Has anyone recieved their reports for Spotify this month because I have NOT. I contacted tunecore last week and they said it was processing, and I believe that that was on Tuesday... So I think they had enough time to process these reports... Believe it or not Spotify is quiet a decent store for me, with the right promotion and getting my fanbase to get on board, so far i have seen a little success. Just checking with the fellow community to see whats going on.

Thanks and best wishes
Forum: TuneCore Music Distribution

TuneCore Publishing Agreement Constraint Clarrification

Hi folks,

I am a song-writer and performer who exploits my music as a business. Each year I write and record a children's music album, write a live music and puppetry show and perform it. I also have a licensed performer who delivers the show on the other side of the country (Australia) and am in the process of recruiting employee performers for the State Capital City markets on the East Coast (Australia).

I've released my first two albums on iTunes via TuneCore - artist Kathy Possum, releases Exploring Australia and The Magic Circle.

I've previously been offered a distribution and publishing deal however knocked it back because the terms were incompatible with my business model and the publisher was not flexible enough to cater for my needs.

I like the look of the TuneCore publishing deal, however need to clarify a few things before I sign up.

Please confirm the following general assumptions:
(a) TuneCore Publishing is generally an administrative publishing agreement which does not require TuneCore to actively promote any song.

(b) TuneCore Publishing may at its sole discretion actively promote a song, however it would generally only do this if the song or artist was achieving sales or generating publicity buzz at a level that made TuneCore believe the use of its resources to promote a song was economical for TuneCore.

Also please address the following explicit issues:
Clause 1(a)(ii)A - What are the implications of this agreement on the following activities I might want to undertake:

* Posting a YouTube video clip of a song. Encouraging viewers to submit video of themselves performing a 'signature move' from the video clip onto YouTube. Creating and posting a new YouTube video including the viewer's contributions. Promoting the YouTube video through social media.

* Submitting a Music Video to broadcasters for use on their music video programs or for use on or between children's shows.

* Promoting our socially responsible songs directly to relevant interest groups.

* Promoting our songs to internet, community radio or commercial radio.

Clause 1(a)iv - Please confirm that this clause would not prevent me, my licensee or employees from performing different versions of the songs in our live performances. By different versions, I am referring to the type of changes in arrangement one might expect to hear in a live performance of a song at a concert - longer, shorter, slight variation in the lyrics, the song being performed as a duet etc.

Clause 2(d) - Please confirm that this clause would also allow my licensed performer and my employee performers to sell my CDs at their live performers.

Thanks for the opportunity to raise these issues in a forum. Hopefully the answers will give me the confidence I need to use your publishing service.

Cheers

Kathy Possum

Forum: TuneCore Publishing Administration
